today i went to my first 300 ft. drag race...one of my friend's co-worker build a track behind him house...running on the 300 ft track what would be the best front and rear sprockets to run? it's a dirt track for now but the guy said that he was going to make it a clay track...i'm running a atc 250r/500 and a atc 250...

It all depends on the condition of the track, the tires you are running and the mods done to your trikes. I have a fully ported 250r drag motor with a drag pipe 20x10x9 hauller paddles, bigger carb, aftermarket ign, +8 swingarm and pro-wedge tires, and for me a 14 tooth front and 38 tooth rear works great. But one machine is different from the next you will just have to play with it.

Renthal makes some nice sprockets. I would get a set of Renthals lightweight sprockets. For a chain, since you are dragging, I would run a NON o-ring chain.

well ,,, you have to remember the 500 has a close ratio 5 speed trans,, so you will have to really gear up to pull it out the backside on 300ft.. i would start lookin for the HRC wide ratio gear set,,,,, i did ,,, makes it way better,,,,

Let us know how you come out. The pro wedge tires work great in the clay where the paddles may work better in loose dirt. Hopefully you have an extended swingarm!!

I'm running 15/42 on mine and its pretty good for the 22in pro wedges I have on there now. Still plenty low enough I can start in second gear and still just shread the tires if I Dont feather the clutch.

dump the wheelie bar.. or strut the rear and then wheelie bar w adjustable mounts.. it will "pogo" down the track and not launch very straight if your not carful w the bar... i have a 34" long arm on my cr project bike."+14?"

my banshee ( i know i know!!) runs 15/45 and 25" 14 paddle ultralights.. i am going to switch it to 13 38 w 250r rear sprokets.. should end up with the same ratio..
