I got this brand new ST and it seems there should be a rubber gromet with possibly a metal collar going thru it for the mount hole.
All that I got was a bolt and 3 washers :wondering
Well I got the clamps of course too but this definitly looks like it should be rubber mounted.
Surley some one has the same set up.

Id say it only uses the bolt with a washer on one side to make up for the size difference so the bolt doesn't just slip right through. Wouldn't the rubber grommet melt after awhile??
And did you get my PM about the exhaust?

The depth (2nd picture) of the mount hole surely looks like it's designed to except a gromet of some sort and I'm quite sure it wouldn't melt.
Using the bolt and 2 washers is not the right set up for sure.
PM about exhaust :wondering Have to check.

Hmm.. I don't know.. maybe the took the pipe off of their machine, and the rubber was messed up, so they just took it off?
Yeah.. the message receipt confirmation thingy said you read it.. lol

Well I'm rubber mounting mine for sure. They wouldn't have such a big hole if it wasn't intended to be rubber mounted.
How did you mount yours.......just a bolt and 2 washers ????
:wondering Your supposed to get disc with it????
Just kidding  I got them.

There is a rubber grommet (actually 2) in my supertrapp. one for each side of the hole. They are slightly cone shaped (tapered). I dont have a good pic of them but I posted what pic I have. They are backed up by washers on both sides.
I'd say they arent absolutely necessary, you may get a vibration without them...but its not a big problem.

I have one for a 350X. There is a rubber grommet or grommets in there. You are missing it (them). If you contact supertrapp and tell them you bought a pipe kit and the stuff was missing, I'm sure they'll send you replacements.

Ahhh, thank you. :beer
The proper way is to have a metal collar through the bushings, that way your tigtening down solid to the frame yet not sqooshing the rubber bushing (like Honda does with their front fenders).
I'm sure I can make that set up very easily.
Thanks again!!

That's an idea but I won it on ebay. 2 lousy bushings though I don't think they will make a big deal about it and send me them.
Don't you have any sort of collar though going through the bushing?

A used Super Trapp I bought was missing the grommet and everything else that is supposed to go in the hole. I went to the hardware store, got 2 rubber grommets that looked like they'd work, got a spacer to go inside the rubber, and I might have even put a washer on the front and back. I'd say use rubber, it might help the aluminum welds from cracking from viberations.
How much does the system cost?I have a complete system for my 1985 200 X.

They don't make them any more so you must win them on ebay. I think mine was 81 including shipping and it's the whole system (header & exhaust) which is brand new.
When are you going to post pictures of your 85 200X????? I want to see exactly how it was when you bought it!!!
Knowing you, you won't post any till it's perfectly clean.
Come on................POST A FEW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya'mine came on the machine when i got it.It is a little ruff...but after i sand blast it will look new again.
