First, :welcome:

You mean a 250 r ?????? Apples and oranges, kinda. There's plenty of threads on here as far as the 2 versus 4 stroke thing, but it is really a matter of what you want. A good running 250 r is NOT for the timid or beginner. Neither is the 200x, but it's a little more tame. How about buy both! :naughty:

I have seen a 200R before. I think they were a special built machine. I would go with the 200R because it's a 2 stroke.

A 250r will get you killed...............................learn how to ride a trike on something smaller, like a 200x

Why do you say that. As long as you respect the bike and know your limits you'll be fine. My first street bike was a LTD1000 bored out to a 1300 running 7's in the quarter mile but I knew what kind of power it had and respected that and I was fine. I did the same with my first sport bike. I did the same with my first quad and I plan to give my first 250R the same respect.

Are you asking what yr the 250R is? If so I'm not sure I looked at the 200X and the 250R breifly Sunday when I picked up the 200s. The guy called me today and told me I could come trade the 200s in for the 200x or the 250R.

Why the 200x if the 250R isn't water cooled?

Reliability.

However. . . what type of terrain you ride on ? and how much do you weigh

Go with the one you like best.. you will learn how to ride it fast enough.

Both run rides !

So would you say trading the 200s for the 200x or 250R is a better deal?

It all depends on the year and condition of all 3..

Not enough info was given to give you a real opinion.. every on here likes the model they drive the best.

Me for example.. i'd tell you to look for an SX !

All are in pretty much the same condition and i want somthing that will be able to stay with my LTZ400 but not a lot of maint.

Dammit!

I'd trade a nice 200s for a banged up 250R of any year personally. I'm not a fan of hardtails though.

Do you remember if the 250R had radiators on it? If you can trade a 200s for a water pumper, do it without hesitation. Just my two cents.

A 250R is a kick in the pants. Crazy power just like a Z or Tecate. :naughty:

Go for the R if it's liquid, as long as you respect it's power, you will be fine.
