I always see posts of people saying stuff like "my YT does 70mph" and "its fast enough as it is" Mine only runs 40mph TOPS. How do i make it fast!?!?

McFly...you're so gullible, don't believe everything you read or hear. A lot of posts make the claim, but have you ever actually seen a YT do 70 mph? I don't think so, but that's the beauty of the internet, you can BS people half a world away, all day long with out ever having to physically back your claims.

By the way, my 250R will do 120 mph and all I've done to it is put on a new powerband, a K & N filter, new grips and re-jetted the carb.

You get more speed by changing the air in your air filter also. Fill your tires with helium you can jump higher too.

I think really what people are trying to say is that they have a "Quick" rather than a "Fast" YT175. The two words are related in their context - but - different in their ultimate uses. Quick has always meant acelleration - fast is top speed.

Right now my 175 will only go as fast as you can push or pull it!! Hey could you do me a favor angryyoung? look at your yt's cylinder base and see if it is stamped as 123cc or something different. Mine is stamped 123cc's and I was wondering if mine had a 125 cylinder on it or the 125 and 175's were the sme bore but different stroke. Thanks

90 - The 125 is listed as a 56mm bore, whereas the 175 has a 66mm bore. The stroke is the same at 50mm.

70 mph? I'm lucky if I can get 32 out of my 125.

When my 1983 YT 175 was new and stock it would go between 53 and 56 mph, depending on which car or truck was being used to check the speed. Being a two stroke made it seem really snappy compared to a Honda 185s or 200s though, so most people thought it was faster than it really was.

Well it looks like my 175 has a 125 cylinder on it. It seems that everything I get has a different cylinder on it. My 200x had a 185 cyl, my tecate had a kx cyl., and now this. Where will it end?!?

ya i got a 83 YT 175 and its really fast its been ported and polished and all that junk. Its such a fun trike to ride and it pulls wheelies like crazy cause the motor is set so far back.

I know a guy who tells me his 250 will run 100+ all day long, I think he really believes it too. me having never seen it will hold my judgement, but that does seem awfully fast on three wheels Jim
