Could be an 87, didn't the 86's have red headlights?
Oh, it's an SX by the way.
I like what was done to it, mudflaps, racks, it looks good. (in the pics any way)

thats not a bigred! From what i see it looks like a 250sx. The front end has alot more suspension then the bigred does and the headlight is also from a 250sx. The tank and color scheme is like a sx (dont know what year). The sx can also have racks! Plus the motor color on a bigred is silver and on the sx is black. The back fenders look to have fender extensions on them

Not sure if it is an 87 as I don't have that much knowledge on the SX's, but if it is an 87.. I'd say it's worth it.

As you can see im qute the trike newbie-So was the sx just the more powerful and more "racier" version of the es?

Almost the same.. biggest difference
SX has 22 " tires
ES has 25 " tires.
The SX had sportier plastics but the frame. swingarm engine tranny.. carb etc.. all the same.
85 had a different swingarm setup.. but the 86 and 87's had a revised version of the swingarm setup.
Front shocks on the SX were full tubes. the ES has bent front tubes for the forks and less travel.
Get that SX if the motor is solid and the frame is in good shape.. inspect the welds and be aware that if the rear and swingarm bearings are shot it gets costly to fix but lasts a virtual lifetime once done !

Auto clutch five speed with reverse. If I am not mistaken Its an 86 pictured. White headlight, white tank with red fenders, I am fairly sure thats 86 model, 87's I thought were solid white. Hell I find a picture of an 87 real quick.

Yep.. 5 speed.. SHAFT DRIVE no chains no sprokets.
Drum brakes front and back.
Reverse
Electric Start !
the " Lazy boy " of the trike domain !
Not really a race bike, but not really utility either.. just the right mix of the 2 !

Truley one of the best IMO. I miss mine everyday. I went over and rode it around a little bit yesterday. I WILL have another one some day.

86 and 87 are " Physically " just about the exact same.. just that the 87 are a less common sight.
As far as riding them.. no difference what so ever.
