Well I just picked up another Tri-z but this time it's getting built for my buddy that went to TF05 with me (we hooked another one, :D ). It's a basket case and the price was right so I know we'd be rebuilding everyting. What happened was someone didn't know you had to run pre-mix in it and burnt everythign up. The crank got so hot at the rod pin that it's all dis-colored. I know the crank needs rebuilt but the question is, can a crank be rebuilt after it got that hot? Is this something I should have checked out or can I just assume that it can rebuilt and send it out? What does everyone think? Thanks

I'm sure you'll need crank bearings.. !
How is the rest of it looking ? cylinder, head, etc...
And how bout the Power Bands ?

LOL, I think I already established it needs bearings. ;) That's why I'm asking if it's still rebuildable when it gets so hot it discolors.
The cylinder needs a bore but has plenty of room for one and the head looks good but I'll probably have it slightly shaved and cleaned up. Over all it's looking like one of the better projects I've picked up.

I can most likely be rebuilt. Wiseco makes a Rod kit for it, but its not on their listing as a YTZ kit. It was one of the YZ kits for something. I had one done last year by a place in Ohio, and they truned it aroudn in less than a week. If youre interested, I can dig up the invoice and give you the details unless youve already got somebody in mind. Off the top of my head, Im thinking it was around $180 including the rod kit and shipping.

It's got the Quadzilla LTZ 500 Gorilla power bands, without a doubt the best ever made for any 2 stroke

If you don't mind digging up the info I'd gladly take it. Shoot me a PM when you get a chance, thanks TimSr.
And for everyone else, I have some super custom power bands being made. I was souping up the john boat for all the works it's been doing and got a good idea on some custom bands for that too. :D
