first post for me on this site
i just picked up a 84 yamaha 225dx that has been converted to a
4 wheeler it has a turnning problem
as you turn it just slides the front tires
wheel and tire size is 22/11/8 rear 20x700.8
the coversion kit looks like it is well made and turn radius is ok as well
my question is how can i solve this problem
im wondering about a tire and or wheel swap ???
any suggestions will help thanks

Does it do this on loose dirt as well ? or mainly on paved or hard surfaces ?

Tire pressure needs to be equal all around. very important too.

Welcoem aboard !! btw !

Honestly I would convert it back to a 3-wheeler. My buddy had a 250SX that was converted and it did the same thing, it was horrible to ride. Other than that the only thing I can say is lean forward when you turn.

Sounds like the geometry is wrong, If the spindles are not angled (caster) Back on top. then the weight on the inside or out side front wheels won't let the tire dig in to turn. If you pull off the wheel & watch the spindle when you turn, does the spindle stay flat when the handle bars are turned? If you can lean the top ball joint back, it will help it turn. When the spindles are angled it will also help unload one or the other of the rear tires too, with a posi rear axle the machine wants to go straight because the tires won't slip. When you turn left with the caster set rite, you will see the machine lean down in the right front, that will unload the left rear tire, & let the rear axle slip so it will turn. I just went through all this with a go cart that I run on a concrete track, the posi rear axle would make the front wheels push straight, until I put some caster in it.
