Hi, I just discovered this forum and found this very interesting. I am already looking into getting a dirt bike or quad for next summer, and I was just wondering what size trike would I want if I wanted to get one. I am 6"5" around 260 lbs. Also, what would the price range be for the size of trike I need.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Justin

i would recomend a 350X if your going to be riding a sport trike, you could pick a nice runner up for around a thousand dollars..give or take a couple hundred.

Yeah I'd figue a Tri-Z, 350x, Tecate, Big Red or YTM225. I'm 6'2" 185lbs and I'm still riding the 200 Big Red that I was riding when I was 5 years old.

I'm 6' 4" and 250 lbs and I run an '85 250SX. I love it and wouldn't ever trade it for a 2 stroke.

Depending on the type of riding you want to do and terrain you are planning on.

Tri-Z's are cool.. but rare in many parts of the world... none at all around here.

if you like sand and desert.. get a 250 R.. try and find an 85 or 86 as they are liquid cooled.. nice to have ! ( Yes.. i know. the air cooled are an awsome machine too. but being in the market. i'd recommend a liquid cool )

If you do some open pits and wooded trails.. at your size, a 350x would be awsome. four stroke. fully suspended. hand clutch, chain drive. disk brakes.

If you do alot of boggs and marshes.. like creature comforts like Electric Start, rear suspension . and Shaft Drive.. and REVERSE .. get either a 250 ES or SX . only made in 85 and 86. The ES and the SX are very similar, but the SX has 22 inch tires and teh ES has 25's and is a bit " larger " of a fit ! Great machines.

ps: ignore the current condition of my SX.. lol... i swear it's a rare thing to have happen !

hey off topic .. but about that there.. did you happen to pick up the buyer flyer?... theres a Z in plaster rock for sale.. doesnt say condition or price in ad. ;) so there are some around!

BTW what the other people say I agree... it really depends onwhat you want the trike for.

Don't mean to be a post whore but how well do you get around on that? I'm around 260 and have a little 200x. haven't gotten around to riding it yet but I'm a little concerned that I'm too much for that little trike. lol :TrikesOwn

When you get sometthing to ride lets go riding. I live pretty close to you. I think ATC 250SX are great around here. There are lots of 250R's around here but i have only seen 1 Tri Z and thats the one i have. As you know Washington has tons of places to ride. If your gonna get a trike GET A FULL SUSP ONE!! Let me know what kinda ride your looking for ill keep a lookout for ya.
