who makes this kit, does anyone know where i can read about it and other performance parts. and those who have this kit, can you still trail ride?, i imagine the 452 kit makes it run really hot?, stock my 350x gets hot in a heartbeat if i dont keep moving i just realized hot fast it was this weekend and now i just want to make it faster, any advice if appreciated

use race gas to cool it down abit, I always was told that 350x, warrior, 250x, and 200x motors become time bombs after big bore kits, strokers, etc. especially if not done right. I was gonna do 300 in my xr250r and looked at the reliablilty and the power gains and decided it wan't worth it. I'd get a supertrapp pipe, 400ex carb, toss the airbox lid, upgrade suspension, extended axle and you will have a faster bike.

is the 400 ex carb bigger? i know that the stock hp of the 350x and 400ex is the same? but the 350x has more torque would a carb help, mine is so fast now b/c its lean i have a dg pipe and stock 138 jet

the 400ex carb is bigger and has an accellerator pump. 400ex has more hp than 350x.

1 more horsepower stock to stock 27 compared to 28

i read that the 350x has more torque correct? and will the 400ex carb fit right in? and what jet should i run with that carb?

you have to stretch the intake boot to make the 400ex carb fit. its a tight fit.
talk to NOS_350X, he did it.

A stock 400ex carb will slip right in with some manuvering and lube. (he he sounds like i'm describing something elce) You will not be able to use the intake tube that goes from the frame to the airbox anymore. For the 400ex carb to be used to its maximum you need to take a dye grinder to the intakeboot because its a BIG step down and wont increase flow at all. Give me a list of all your mods and i can get you close to the jet you need. If you really want to go fast and not spend too much money throw a 12:1 compression piston, get it jeted right and a little porting (dont need to go any biger just smooth) and on the sand i can beat any stock bike but if there piped most the time they would beat me.

350x is 24-25hp and the 400ex is 26-27hp stock. The 350x does not have more torque then the 400ex. Also the 400ex is choked back more from the factory then the 350x too so a simple slop-on and air filter makes a bigger differnce.

doesn't a 12:1 pistopn require race gas?????? I don't understand all these 12:1 pistons on 200s's, 200x's. also wouldn't a 12:1 piston make more heat than a stock compression piston. I would get a 10.25:1 piston, that is right on the line of race gas, 11:1 is the line for race gas(atleast on a aircooled motor).

The stock intake tube from the carb to airbox will fit, if you use a heat gun and beerbottle to form it with. Mine fit's like it was factory. Also, the step down on the intake boot you mention, i'm assuming from carb to head, is matched to the hole in the head, and tapered to increase intake velocity.
I wouldn't touch it unless you modded the head to match.

Yes, a 12:1 piston needs racegas, and yes a 12:1 piston will generate more heat than a stock comp piston. Compression = heat. 10.25 should run on premium with no prob. The cam also comes into play when figuring comp. Aftermarket cams with more overlap tend to bleed off cylinder pressure as the valves are open longer during the timing event. Your 12:1 piston motor isnt always 12:1 comp with a cam swap.

now besides the racing talk and all the" bs" i have, some1 tell me why the plug is etremely rich and how it is so rich with a 138 jet and dg pipe? thats all i care about i put a new 1 in a few minuites ago rode it for 5 min's up and down the road and took it out and the pulg was solid black???

Just riding and looking at the plug wont tell you if your running lean or rich. You have to plug chop. Take it to a place where you can keep the enging reved out for acouple hundred feet. In about 3rd or 4th gear let rev out the engine then at the end of the distance pull in the clutch and hit the kill switch. The pulg should be a darktan/brown color. If its lighter =lean darker=rich. Witht he dg, i bet your going go up to a 140 main, if you have a uni or k&n 142 (may not be correct but real close).

i put a 142 in today i have a uni and a dg( a gutted dg i beleive)

i know its losing alot of hp with a gutted pipe, it was that way when i bought it, i never would have gutted it like that, that kills the low end but helps the top a little, i hopw i get it right too, its pretty good as it is i guess i just need a axel mine is bent a little

Losing a lot of hp with a gutted pipe, you act like piping something is going to give it 50 ponies! I would be willing to bet your hardly losing 1.
If you need an axle, go to rockymountainatv they have durablues for $234. I have caught some really nice air on mine and havent bent it yet.

the other guy said i was loosing ponies i personally dont think its that much, but i do beleive they loose some low end with a straight pipe

EDIT:

83185s was right, there was too much BS in here and it strayed away from the topic. All the post are still alive and in a new thread called 350x vs. 660r in the this vs. that forum.
