I'm triyng to change my valve seals right now and I got the rocker arm pin out of the intake with little problems, now the exhaust one is giving me a little trouble.

I was trying to pull it out with a bolt and the bolt broke off flush with the pin, so I tried drilling a little hole in the broken bolt, then using a left handed drill bit to try to get that broken bolt piece out. It didnt work, it doesnt catch.

The only thing I can think of to do now, is to drill a larger hole in the pin, and tap it. Then buy a new pin from yamaha. A guy at work told me to heat it up with a heat gun to expand the aluminum and the bolt will come out easier, a little late for that though...

What else should I try? or should I just drill, retap, extract, then replace?

if you have a welder... you might be able to weld a nut with the inside diameter the same size as the piece you need to remove.. weld it to the leftover and while it's still hot.. thread it out..

Don't know for sure if it would create problems with the fragile nature of the parts at hand tho.. things like this just SUCK....

good luck.
