I bought a new 350 front sprocket. Last night when i was installing it, one of the bolts which hold it to that little roundish bracket snapped inside of the sprocket. I cant get it out, so i have to buy another one. (not a big deal, just 12 bucks)

I am going to check at a couple of local dealers, but im not sure if they would have one, and the old was is too bad to use (all teeth nice and skinny, 2 of them gone, all bent in one direction)

Can i use just one bolt to hold the sprocket on for one day worth of riding (say 3-4-5 hours tops)?

Thanks for your help.

Mike

I wouldn't recommend doing that... could put too much stress on certian parts, chain might fly off... etc...

The bolt hole should go all the way through the sprocket. I would just center punch it and drill it. It should thread itself out.

Bad idea 1st sign of torque its gonna twist and break things or if your lucky only toss the chain

No torque is applied to that bolt.

To be honest you'll probably be fine, all it's doing is holding on that clip/plate. I personaly wouldn't do it but I'd already have that broken bolt out too.

the bolt is already 99 % out, but the threads are messed up and im just gonna get another sprocket.

If anyone else has any other ideas, please let me know, and thanks everyone for your opinions so far.

Thanks,
Mike

Get the bolt out that last 1% and run a tap through it and put another bolt in it.

Exactly, you've gone this far you might as well finish it. Then you'll have a spare around if you already ordered one.
