View Full Version : High-flow air filters?
Maybe I can get an answer over here... quad central did me no good.
If you put a high-flow air filter on a 2-stroke, do you need to adjust the jetting or anything? To some this will be a really stupid question, but asking them has never bothered me. ;)

if you are only bolting up a filter and your jetting is already in check.. it should be fine.. but check the plug to make sure.
if you bolt up a high flow filter AND a pipe.. port and polish.. etc.. then rejet for SURE.
Edit to add : 2 strokes are more sensitive than 4's.. what model is this on ?

It doesn't matter what you do, when you change flow, intake or exhaust your should take the 10 mins and check it out. So YES you should atleast check even though you might not need to change anything. You probably didn't get a good answer at quad central because any answer other then the one I just gave you would be guessing.
Ok, at this point I guess I should admit to the fact that I have no idea about adjusting the jetting on it either. God, I hate admiting ignorance. I have all the manuals I seem to be able to get for the Scrambler, but none of them tell me about adjusting the jetting.
