I just got to thinkin cuz I was bored and a lot of people want to change the front suspension of there 200X with a 350X fork set up right? well to do that you have to cut the steering stops off the 200X frame cuz the 350X uses different style steering stops. What I am trying to get at is the 83-84 250R's use the same style of steering stops that the 200X uses and the front ends look very very similar. the swap will give you a couple more inches of travel and to get the bike back to almost level the rear shock linkage that bolts to the swing can be flipped upside down to push the swing arm down a little more to raise the tail of the bike, granite you wont gain any more travel in the rear but it wont make the bike look like its tail is sagging. I have an 83 250R front end and I think I will venture off in the swap and let you guys know if it really does work or not.

The R's use a tapered roller bearing and the X's use the individual balls. Not sure if anyone makes a tapered roler bearing kit for the X's.

I've seen places that sell the tapered steering stem bearings for the 200X and the model ID number is the exact same for the 83-84 250R's. if anything I'll have to swap the steering stems if they are different lengths.

ok I got a little over zealous and jump the gun a little on this whole thing. the 83-85 200x, 81-82 250R's, and the 85-86 350X all use the same tapered steering stem bearings. I will have to do a little research to see if the 83-86 250R bearing cup will even fit in the 200X bearing race.
