R tank on an SX ???

I'm looking at tanks on e-bay and the R tanks look some close to the SX setups..... has anyone ever tried to bolt one up before ? do they come close ? or not what so ever ?

I think the rad shrouds would look pretty cool on an SX.. but i'd like to see it.

That's a great idea BUT as far as the sculpture of the tank the SX is way sexier with the step up honda designed on the top part.

The R tank down right bores me toward the SX and now that I noticed it doesn't have it, it brings up a good question...........

Do any other Honda ATC's have a step up like that.

I assume you are talking about a 83-84R tank. The radiator shrouds/tank off a watercooled R I think would look major ridiculous on a SX. As far as a gastnk with shrouds, a 200X or 350X tanks both have them, but again, not sure if attempting a tank swap would be practical or feesible.

FYI: I have seen a 350x tank on an SX. It didn't have the shrouds on at the time. (could of had this SX for a couple hundred, but it wasn't exactly in useable condition)

Seems like the shrouds would probably hit the forks when you turn, but if you could make a set of custom shrouds...
If you have a 200x front end, the chance of the forks hitting the shrouds would be less.

An 83-84 R tank would look hilarious on an SX, just the thought of it makes me sick!!

That wasn't a miss spell in Step Up that I said as you are saying set up.

Look at the difference. That "extra" step up raised section on top that goes from seat to beyond cap just does something for it. I definitly like the whole shape of the SX tank more.
