Well I have just about got every thing that I need for a complete rebuild (its all ordered anyway and is on the way). Next week Ill be sending my cylinder to NiCOM in wisconsin for replating and a piston kit. (Total cost without shipping---------$262, I didnt think that was too bad of a price)Anywho...Ill be replacing all seals and gaskets but, I was unable to find a case gasket and noticed when I split the case on my spare engine that it was siliconed together....is this tipical? Any recommendations as to what I should use to reseal? Also, what should I use on the new crank bearings for lube (oil, grease, etc.). I will also be having my rear shock rebuilt and revalved if it is possible. (not sure if its rebuildable...asked the guys at the kaw dealer and they said that they wouldnt know until they saw the shock for themselves) Anyone rebuilt or had one rebuilt for an '84 tecate rear shock. Well thats all that I can think of right now for ?s. I sure there will be more to come. thanks fellers---Joe 8)

I hope the shocks are rebuildable, because mine is blown sooooo bad, I dont even ride it. Its like a pogo stick...............pretty scary when the rear end bounces up...

I used Threebond to reassemble my cases......dood, I had my cylinder sleeved for less than that...plus the cost of the sleeve! My sleeve was $80, plus $90 to deck the cylinder, and cut the head....now I have oversizes on my cylinder..

yea the factory usually uses a sealer like threebond, yamabond, or whatever. you should use 2 stroke oil on the bearings

You got a he!! of a deal cartman but, the price I listed was not for sleeving it was for replating and also included a piston kit(weisco prolite). The local Kaw shop wanted $200 for the plating alone.---Joe 8)

I got the sleeve from Dennis Kirk, took my cylinder & head to the local machine shop and they bored out the nikisil and put the cast iron liner in. removed the head studs, and decked the cylinder....
Well..it wasnt such a great deal afterall....they bored my cylinder incorrectly..they set it up way sloppy and the motor ended up having blowby...it will cost me a piston..hehe
