Maybe your spark plug? I doubt it would run good and then stop if it was your plug, but it might be. Take it out and if it is black, you need to change it.

Hmm.. I'm not too good at diagnosing problems.. but maybe something is wrong with your carb??

Dammit!

Make sure you're getting good flow from the petcock. Sounds like it's partially blocked and not re-filling your carb's float bowl fast enough then you just run out of gas and it starts up again after the float bowl fills back up.

Is the gas tank rusty on the inside?

There is a valve on the left side bottom of your gas tank.

follow the fuel line from the tank to the carb.. the thing marked ON OFF REZ is the petcock...

Put in on OFF and remove the fuel line from it.. then place a cup under the spout and turn the knob on ON and REZ and check your flow.. it should POUR out .. if it trickles you found your problem.

Could also be plugged on the carb side.... don't forget that !

and also.. how exact was your time estimate ???

if it's really 10 minutes.. i don't think it's the carb.. fuel starvation would show up sooner than 10 minutes unless you have alot of crud in your tank wich pluggs things up once you start to ride.

have you changed the oil and filter recently ? any reason for oil not getting to the head ? Might want to pop off a valve cover and take a peek if the fuel thing turns out ok.

When it dies, unscrew the screw on the side of the carburetor fuel bowl. If gas comes out your drain hose then your getting fuel at least to the carb. Then if you verify fuel there, pull the plug and verify fuel there. If there is fuel there, then check the spark, this will at least narrow it down to either a fuel or ignition problem.
