Hmm does this sound like a beast or what? anyone have anything to say about any of this?.. Anyone have any info about the engine? I think its a 81-82 or so.

:D Sounds a bit Frankenstien-ish, if you don't mind me making up words.
If you've got the parts I suppose it can't hurt to try. Finding a way to fit plastics will be a biotch though!

Anything with 3 wheels and a motor is a good idea to me .
And what makes it best is that its all honda.

a cb400 might do 100 if you really got on it. Now a cb750 on the otherhand, now that is a nice motor :naughty:

too heavy ... cb750 = 4 cylinders...

cb400 is also a 4 cyclinder. You talking about Honda right?

EDIT: I correct myself I had to look at mine to make sure. I forgot that it had 2 pipes going to each cyclinder.

well the cb engine I have is a twin and only has one exhaust valve per cylinder.

I have a few questions...
what size chain is it?...
does anyone know the size of the front sprocket shafT? (and possibly what other sprockets might fit)...
I want to/need to make the engine be able to accept a 420 chain.
Will that be able to handle the poweR? I read this engine has 40 hp peak.

The CB400F (pictured in your post) is a four cylinder. The later CB400T Hawk was a twin. I assume he is talking about the Hawk.

I don't think a 420 chain will hold it very well. It probably has a 530 chain which is the same pin to pin distance as a 520 but it's wider. Use a 520 chain.

i wouldnt put that huge cb750 motor in a blaster?!?!?!! holy $#!T!!!!! blaster are way too small for that HUGE motor, and they get really hot in the sand especially....good luck with that....i also blew the clutch COMPLETELY apart in one of my motors and 2nd gear also got chewed up in another....not a good engine if you plan on keeping it in there for a few years and beating on it....they will take a beating, but the tranny isnt too happy being slammed around....lots of torque though...hope you extend yur swinger....also my cb400t motor i have burnt the cdi out on it, so if anyone needs any other parts cheap(sorry admins) let me know....

Ok I need some help figuring out the rear end. I plan on running a 200x rearend. But it takes a 420 chain .. .
So can somebody list all of the trikes that use a 520 chain ?.. are there any?
Is the 200x sprocket hub pattern the same as any other trikes?

Thanks
Chris

Are you sure a 200X only has a 420? All my ATC200's and 200S's have a 520 chain. I have a 85 200X at my house, I never paid much attention but i thought it had a 520 Chain. I'll have to check that out.

yeha sorry guys I just woke up... I am pretty sure the 200x is 520 too.... umm but the one on the cb is soo much wider... will the 520 chain fit on the sprocket .. that is made for the "530" ?

I had an FZR600 Yamaha crotch rocket, it had a 530 on it. A lot of people would convert it to a 520 for less weight and less power consumption. They would just have the sprockets milled thinner then use a 520 chain. You would only have to worry about your front. So just have the front milled to the thickness of a 520 sprocket or I'm sure you can find a sprocket that will go on your CB motor that is for a 520 chain.
