I'd stick with the head light personally.

As it sits because it looks mostly like a stocker (dont know if you tricked it up in any way) I say keep the headlight. Put a handmade pipe on it, some Hoosiers, wider axle then I would say plate it. Looks great either way.

Its an R not a Z :beer

I say the headlight. What are the measurements on those rear tires? They're wide!

damn thats a tough one because it looks really good both ways, i say have each one on for half of the year.

I kind a like the R without a number plate and light. If its for show leave the light on.

i'd stay with the light.

that plate looks too big and bulky on there with the tiny tires.

I am having the same problem with my Z. I have decided to run a number plate at TF and other races. Then the headlight for normal, all around riding and all my off days of racing.

Do you ride at night?? :wondering

Looks good either way, but looks too stock for a plate. I like a light on a stocker and a plate on a modded flat tracker.

Can you still get the old front DG type race plates for the 250R's ? if so where ?
I had one back in 86,long gone now.

You should add a poll. ;)

I agree with Orangeccnty250r, if your going to leave the trike as is, you should stick with the light, but if your going to do those racing mods, go with the number plate.

They are 18x11-9 Fast Trekkers. They are worn down some, but they aren't even as tall as the 18x11-8 Turf Tamers on my Tri-Z.

Dammit!

I say get a headlight off an '86 R. They just look a lot better to me for some reason even though they're similar. I voted for the number plate just because I don't like the '85 light. :)

Edit: and get that #4 off there and put a #3 on it! :Bounce

LOL! I don't think I have a black 3. I like the 86 Light better. But I don't dislike the 85 style. I think 350X lights look good on an R.

I have an 86 light on my 85 I may trade you. It's nice. No cracks or fading. Has the sticker on top but the sticker is not perfect. I was wanting the 85 light so it would be correct but I'm kinda liking the 86 light now.

That is the beauty of the 250R. Use BOTH! When you want the light on take the 10 seconds and plug the light in and hook the 4 straps. When you want it to look like a racer, put the # plate back on.Its not like the Tecate where you have to unbolt the plastic shroud, and then take the bolts out of the tripple tree to remove the bracket. Either way you decide you have a nice looking 250R and it will look great with whatever you decide.

I say buy another 250r and run one with the # plate and one without because it is to hard to make my mind up but I voted for the # plate anyways!

Definatly go with the number plate. With the headlight it looks like anyone elses clean R, but with the plate it looks custom.

The light looks better to me, all the open space of the #
