mines got a Ton, and it eats pull ropes because of it! I go through a pull rope every couple months, and I dont ride it much, if ever.

something is cutting into it or rubbing hard.

open it up get the sand paper or dremmel and smooth all the cable passways etc.. smooth out any sharp pieces.

Pulling hard on a rope should not be a problem.. friction however !!!!

..

How much PSI you got now ? i know a 200 honda 4 stroke has aprox 140 - 160 when fresh.

check the homepage under " Specifications " .. might be listed.

could the lack of compression be due to the fact the carb slide is missing?thanks

no.

the slide ( or carb for that matter ) has nothing to do with compression.

The book says 128psi for the YT175. If you can spin it over that easy then something is wrong. Missing the carb. slide should affect the compression but in a good way. For a compression test you are supposed to hold the throttle open so it can get as much air as possible, without the slide the throttle is already open.
