sprocket question

does anyone know if a front sprocket from a 85-86 r will fit on an air cooled r?
Or any other bikes that use the same sprocket. I'm looking for a 15 tooth sprocket and can't find one. The 15 I have now is worn, what performance difference will a 14 give me? Can I use a 14 and adjust the size of the rear sprocket to give me the performance I have now? thanx

A 14 will give you a little more low end torque and you will loose a little top speed. I have no idea if the sprockets will interchange. If you buy the 14 and want the same gearing you had you will need to raise your rear sprocket tooth count by 3 to compensate for the smaller front sprocket.
