well now that its running good i have noticed that when the motor gets to opperating temp (or about 20 min's) the the throttle would race on its own every so often and it would keep pulling between the gears, primarily between 1st & 2nd( it will only fall back down to idle speed within about 30 secs) so i took the airbox cover off and it pretty much solved the sticking between the gears and racing of the throttle.
but, where i ride there is lots of water and mudd and i cannot ride with the cover off on the trails. so my q is.... what is the stock air filter that came on this bike it has a "uni filter" on it now and it dosent look like it flows too well, its thick foam. i imagine the stock filter will flow better than this 1. and does any1 else think that the intake holes on the frame of this bike are a bit small?! has any1 cut these 2 circles out in the middle to make a rectangle.? im sure it would get 75% more air through the frame that way, most of the riding here is slower riding, we rarely get to open the throttle to cool them off so any ideas of how to get more air would be appreciated.

Check for air leaks between the carb and cylinder head.

The stock filter is JUNK, Uni is good, K&N flows too much and doesnt filter it out that well. (my oppinion) Stick with the UNI but rember clean it and keep it oiled. You can clean it in warm watter with some dawn dish soap. The intake holes on the frame arnt that important, if your worried about flowing more air take the airbox lid off, i dont think that those holes are going to help your flow that much. My gess is your carb is dirty go though it and clean it out real good then check for leeks in the intake.
