I read a post a while ago about someone who wanted to put 250R forks on his 350X,,, Aside from the tripple clamps and bearings,, I remember that the big problem was that the 250r axle is trailing where as the X is leading, and he did not want to shorten the wheelbase,,,, Couldn't you just mount the right fork on the left and vice versa,,, the brake would be on the oppisite side but other than that,, Why couldn't you,,,,,,, Then it would be a leading axle......

What about the brake line though? Wouldn't you have to have a special longer brakeline made to crossover so you can keep the brake lever on the right side?

What is it that you have trouble tightening,,,,, If anything the brake line would need to be shorter because by reversing everything, the rotor would end up being on the right side instead of the left...

You are right... I was thinking of a 200X. I've been working on a 200X lately so I was thinking it was on the right side like a 200x and not on the left side like a 250R which this post is about so I'll shutup now. :-D

Were you thinking about doing a swap onto a 200x? That would be cool, I know people put 350x suspension on 200x's so why not some 250r stuff?

Well, I've got an 85 250R and an 84 200X. I've got and extra front end for an 85R, but I'm saving it for the R I will be building from all the parts I have when I get the $money$. However, the guy I work for just picked up an 84-85? 200x that has the 85-86? 250R front end on it. They put the triple tree, forks, brake, wheel and hub on the front. So, it must work. I'm not sure if you'd have to drill or anything like that though. It makes it sit up a little more in the front end, and I pretty sure it makes the suspension better. I'm in the process of getting him to sell me the front end off of there so I can put it on my 200X! Then, I'd prob have to adjust my rear shock up to match the front end since I'm running 20" tires on the rear.
