Now the '83 wont start

Been trying to start it for a couple days, nothing. Finally got the '82 and drug it up the ally poped it into gear, *bam* she starts, 2 blockes away from home. unhook the strap, a block away dies, turned over, quit turned over 2 times, quit 2 more dead. what the crap?

That's not quite enough info to easily help.

Could be fuel related.. carb.. electrical.... What's the background details on it ?

Well i tore the carb apart, and looks great checking the lines no plugging there, since the starter does not work, ( pre problem) i just sit there pulling and pulling and does not fire, tried new plug, not the problem i wonder if my pulse gen. o rthe other thingy is getting weak.

remove the plug.. put it on the wire.. and touch the tip to the cylinder.. pull the cord adn check for spark.. you don't need to pull hard to get spark.. it should just spark.

Is the plug wet or dry after pulling the thing for a while ? if dry.. you are not getting gas.. if wet then it could be a spark problem.

don't touch the rotor unless you've already taken it part and created a problem.
