OK, Got myself a 200es, anyway, wondering how bad for the engine catwalks are. I was told that doing catwalks for a while wears out your rings cause the oil doesnt get up there. What you think?

its supposed to empty your oil pump and then you dont get much oil up there, but as long as you dont hold them for too long, i dont think you would have a problem. I think thats what happened to my yamahauler, I always did huge wheelies for a long time and i was almost verticle. Now it burns a lot of oil and im in the middle of rebuilding it.

i guess thats what happened with my 350x, i was doin as close to 12 o clock wheelies as you can get w/o scrapin trhe grab bar down the 1/4 mile behind my house.....and now im rebuildin the motor...

To quote the Clymer Manual:

"Caution, do not run wheelies for any distance with the ATC, the oil compacity is relitivly small, and oil will drain out, causing significant engine damage"

Something like that anyway LOL.

You can do it, just not for too long.

I put mine on the grab bar so many times, i swore to myself after this rebuild, no more bar scrapers!

were the oil pump is located it will barely feed any oil to it. usaully after about 3 seconds your out of oil. i would say anything over 75 degrees is very bad for the engine or at least a four stroke engine.

That is why I don't wheelie my trikes every other second. ;)

I've been doing them on my 200s forever and have never had a problem. Sometimes I can go for close to a minute when pumping it slow across a field.

yeah then you hit the power band and have to hold on otherwise you goin over if not experienced enough :w00t:

Anyway the farthest I've gone on my sx was about 400-500 yards (I wasn't sittting on it I did it the cheaters way, put your legs on back!) and it hasnt done anything bad to any of them yet.

I like cheating too, but sitting down on the SX and goin through gears is more of a challenge there for more fun in my book. I have not had one probelm with the engine by doing wheelies and I bust them out all the time.

I know this is an old thread, and im new to the forum, but why doesnt somebody just modify the pickup? I mean I stunt sportbikes so I know all about the oil issues with 4 strokes and not getting enough oil, but there pickups out there now for the sportbikes that fix this so why hasnt anybody done this for our trikes?
