Douglas will make you a 10" rim for the front which will give you a lot more choices as far as tires since you'll be able to run a quad tire up there. I have one on my '85R Flattracker and the only mod was that I had to trim the very end of the hub 'cause it was hitting the wheel. The price was pretty reasonable too.

Thanks guys!! I'm not for sure yet but the 10" rim is looking good. I'll figure it out by the time winter gets here.

That's good info for all because 200Xbasket had a factory gold 85 R rim on his 86 KXT250. I believe it just directly bolted on. Some day I'll swap mine out to see how well it works. I do know from experience you can swap a front hub from an 85 R onto an 85 Tri-Z and run the whole wheel set-up. So that means you could pretty easily get a 10" rim on any of the sport trikes.

The front rim from my '86 Tecate was a different bolt pattern than the 85/86 R and wouldn't fit when I tried the Kawi wheel on the R. The pattern was VERY close but just a little different. The R wheel has bigger lug holes so maybe the R wheel will fit the Tecate but not the other way around. Douglas will make whatever bolt pattern you want (as long as it'll fit within the wheel) and I believe it was $25 extra since it was a "one-off" custom wheel. I think the surcharge was more than fair for a one of a kind wheel.

Hey John, do you know if they will gold anodize a rim for an extra charge?
Maybe xbasket used the whole honda hub like I did on the Z. I know he had a picture and said he was running a honda gold wheel.

Yep, bolts right up ( 85/86R to a 86/87 T3) with no problems. I now own the Tecate that 200Xbasket (Chris) had. Here is a Pic.

You know you maybe right, I never looked that closely at it but I was under the impression that it was a T3 hub and a 250R wheel, I'll look a little closer when I get home.

Who did you talk to? They told me no way, the biggest they would go is 4/166 on a 10" wheel.
