Ok, I have the chance to buy a 1985 350x for 900 with a blown motor. My 86 200x needs the swinger excentric part that holds the axle. In between the sprocket and brake disc if you get what im saying. Will the 350x swinger excentric part work? And is anyone interested in buying the rest of the machine at TF if I buy it and it works.
And outa curiosity, if it has a blown motor how much will it cost to fix. Assuming its the piston, rings and crank.

So what your saying is that your gonna pay 900 for a rear axle carrier? LOL. I think it would probably cost $500-$600 to rebuild the motor depending on who does it. I'm not sure about the rear swingarm fitting I really don't think it will but some of the parts will interchange like the front forks, front fender maybe the hubs, rims and some other odds and ends.

Josh.... like I said in PM, If the 350X is in nice shape, I'd just rebuild or get a crate motor for it and go from there! You ride a 350X, you'll wanna park the 200X.. :naughty:
Bruce <--- not "200x'inNY" for a reason!

Yep like Bruce said 350x all the way....i got both.. :D .350 much more fun....and the bearing carrier from a 85 350x will not fit a 86 200x swingarm they are totally different....O/D and length

Just remember that 350X motor rebuilds can go MUCH higher than 600$. People pay about 250$ just for a good head with good cam journals. Unless the owner knows, you won't know whats involved until you get into it.

I agree 100% here. I personally have spent $600 rebuilding a motor ( parts only ) and I didn't have to replace the head. Things add up quickly, cam chain, rod, piston, crank bearings, gaskets, ect.
I too have owned both machines, I rode a 200x for a year or 2, thinking it was the ultimate 3 wheeler. Then I stumbled upon a 350x. One test ride and I decided the 200x had to go. A good running 350x has the power to Satisfy.
