Yep, you see the worst of the worst on trikes.

That's my opinion. I welcome yours.

The first letter made ATC enthusiasts look like idiots. Might have made people laugh, but only validated his point. Too bad that email got sent, I remember reading it on here as one of the 3WW members sent it. As I recall, he was urged not to do it then.

The problem is that a lot of people read his biased BS. From the looks of it to me, he's just making a fool out of himself.

Yea i remember that first letter too, but i dont remember readin the second paragraph, either the off road guy added that or the guy who wrote it added it after he posted it here, either way it's pretty funny, that one should be last on that page, it lightens the mood! :)

i know i'm totally going to get flamed.....BUT, the guy does make some good points. I know i'm all set at hitting jumps on a 3 wheeler, i'll leave that to my 400ex. I'm not part of the old school racer crowd, I just enjoy building an "antique" machine. I like the build up of 3 wheelers and I'm not really into riding them like I do my quad.

My question is how come so many people really do run over there foot on a 3 wheeler and not on a 4 wheeler? Is it because the person is usually trying to put there foot down to stop the 3 wheeler from tipping?

If the trike is gonna tip your first reaction isnt to put your feet down( atleast with me. I either just let it happen if its past the point of no return or try to lean). The only times that my foot got rolled on by the trike was when my footpegs were packed with snow and ice and my feet werent able to grip the steel, since so much ice built up, and they just slipped off when I was leaning around a corner.

I've wondered that too. Some people just don't "have it". They can't play sports or ride bikes well, and they surely shouldn't be on a motorized toy. Unfortunately, bikes, quads, and trikes are so trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro cool that everyone wants to ride them. I've never come close to running over my leg. I do think that trikes are inherently unstable (physics) compared to bikes and quads. Ever try to navigate a rocky downhill? Trikes can be ridden in relative safety but unfortunately, the vast majority of the American public are blundering idiots....and the majority rules

I think one of the big reasons for running your feet over with a trike is that most of them don't have floorboards or nerfbars like the newer quads.

None of mine ever had floorboards and I've never had a problem. I'm guessing that people freak out when they get that inside tire off the ground and put their feet down.

Precisely, evolution of atv safety is a factor in why injuries have declined, allegedly. I'm convinced that 3 wheelers could have been safer if it were nowadays technology.

Remembering back to when I was a kid, my buddy had a 200S. I remember riding it one time, not being familiar with the trike, and it wanted to tip over. My first reaction was to put my foot down. Never got sucked off the bike tho. As I learned how to ride ATVs (as a kid I always rode 2 wheelers), I realized the importance of sliding the rear and shifting weight. I'd never even think to put a foot down now, but an inexperienced person probably would.
With that being said, let's form a posse, we'll go and get this fat ass and drag him out to TF, blind fold him, tie him to a 200S, and push him down a hill.

ive never run over my leg, when my trike tips i do put my foot down, but whenever i tip its always at low speeds.
