It's been a long rebuild on the Z. After trying to get my new carb dialed in, I discovered that my compression was down to 125lb. When I first built it, it was at 150lb. Turns out the rings were wasted after only 6 hours of riding.

I put a .020 overbore on the cylinder and installed a new Pro-X piston kit. After that I checked the compression again and it was back at 150lb. I figured that was still low, but probably due to the Tri-Z head on the YZ cylinder. So, I seperated my metal head gasket and just used the center section. I now have 200lb! I may add one more thin layer back, as I was shooting for 180lb cold. I'm going to leave it like it is for now and see how it runs. Plan on mixing some 94 octane and some 114 at 50/50 for awhile.

HOPEFULLY the damn thing will run like it should now!!!!

I also added a Moose intake spacer and some 18" Turf Tamers this go around.

I had 220 on a an LT250 and loved it! I'd stick with the 200 and just have fun with it.

Sweet Deal Derrick. Mine is still partially apart in the shop. I'll get it finished up tomorrow (Got to play around with a few changes I made on the 500R today :naughty:) I didn't know Moose made intake spacers for the Z. Where'd you get it from, Dennis Kirk?

Mine is power valved, remember? :) It's for the YZ. I had the local cycle shop order it for me. I did hear that the newer WR's were the same as the Z though!
