I have my homebuilt trike, and my 125 Tri-moto. I love them both. I ride the homebuilt for the high speed stuff, (dirt roads etc) and the Tri-moto for the tight and twisty stuff. (handles better, lighter, lower gearing) I also have a 5.5 hp minibike. It's pretty quick for a minibike. The picture below is of my little "collection". I think it would be cool to make the little minibike a 3 wheeler. Then I would have a trike collection, not a collection of stuff. It would be a cute addition. I'm trying to think what would be more fun, 2 wheels or 3? Ok, lets do pros and cons for making it a mini-trike.
Pros: 1) It'll be a TRIKE! :TrikesOwn 2) The sprocket is so big in the rear, it is almost the size of the rear tire, and when I turn, the sprocket/chain hits the ground. If it had 3 wheels, the sprocket wouldn't hit when I turn. 3) It'll be a little more unusual. (if you haven't figured out yet from the homemade, I like unusual) You see minibikes everywhere, not many mini-trikes though. Cons: 1) Of course more work and money. I'd half to buy wheels, tires, axle, sprocket, etc. I think work is fun though. 2) it'll be a little slower. With more rotating weight, it'll slow it down a little. I could always regear though. Can't think of any other cons. What do you guys think? Stupid topic, but if you don't like it, don't read it.

I think it is a great idea. It would be unusual and it shouldnt be to hard to make either. On this website (www.hometown.aol.com/mrminibike) the guy makes mini quads using a gokart frame with minibike frame ontop of it. I'd say go for it.. another plus is wheelies would be fun.

I already do wheelies on it. If you look carefully at the tiny picture you can see them. I made them with rollerblade wheels. So far I have been clocked going 35.22 mph on the wheelie bars, so they are pretty tough wheels. Actually, it is more stable at high speeds on the wheelie bars, because 3 wheels are on the ground, making like a tripod. On the front wheel, it gets a high speed wobble. You gotta let off some time though, it's kinda funny when you do, because you are going over 35 mph, and the front wheel isn't turning at all. CHIRP! Little puff of smoke.

Hey, thanks for the link. I like these 2 even though they have 4 wheels:

yeah, but it is mainly the same concept, just chop the frontend off the gokart frame, and run a minibike frontend. I know what its like doing wheelies on minibikes, i had one with a 5 horse on it, and wheelies came with ease.

You could just gear it to like a 1 to 3 ratio, 13 teeth up front and like 36 in the back and go about 90. But then you would have to push it downhill to get it going... and climbing hills would be out of the question...

Thats GhostRiders Pocket Trike. I posted on that awhile ago, I would love one of those. Ghost Rider is that Psyco in Europe that goes from one place to the other through traffic on his crotch bike at insane speeds. I got a bunch of his movies. The guy runs cops and toys with them and makes high speed timed runs through trafffic. 50 miles in like 15 minutes. He has a website.

If you did 50 mile run in 1 hour then you averaged 50 mph for the run.
If ya did it in 15 min. your average speed woulda been 200 MPH !?!
I guess his pocket bike is REALLY fast........am I missing something or is my math flawed? :wondering

He has I believe a 600cc Road Racer and that Suzuki Rocket ship. He averages about 170 someodd miles an hour on the RoadRacer. I remember because at the end of each run there a breakdown of his stats including "Close Calls" there are quite a few of those as you can imagine. Top notch crew allso with cameras set up along his route plus his helmet cam. Look for him on the Net if you like Crotch Rocket Bandit stuff.

Anyways I love his Pocket Trike, its real clean and looks to be top knotch work. Anyone have an Idea on how to go about making this little ride. I dont know much about the Pocket Bikes let alone what the frame looks like to make a Mod. Im sure that Rear is custom machined. If someone figured that out they could start converting Poket Bikes into Pocket Trikes. I want one
