its for those crazy cars that are catching on in cali and out west....there aent many stations, but they have like no emissions and get awesome mileage....i dont know if starch causes problems but it is an alcohol... it would take some minor mods to get it to work, but i dont know if it can suspend oil in the premix....

We have run ethanol in every vehicle and small engine since it became avalible in the late 70s. It is NOT hard on anything, that is methanol you guys are thinking of. Most are E10 or 10% which every major car and engine manufacture not only approves but also recommends. It ups the octane and is like adding "Heat" to every tank. I have run it in 2 strokes and 4 strokes a like, many with 150K miles on them. There is no reason not to run it and besides it is a fuel we make here and takes money out of the towel heads pockets. I am even planning to run my 12 to 1 427 on E85 which is 85% ethanol (100 octane). So support America!

If they offered ethanol here, I probably wouldn't buy it, cause it'd be too expensive.

You uninformed people should read up on a subject before you post on a thread and make yourselves look like idiots.
Ethonal is cheaper then normal unleaded. I can buy 90 octane E10 usually $0.10 per gallon cheaper then 87 octane unleaded.
Please click and read: then you should edit your posts after you learn about Ethonal

Evxactly, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) uses E10 for all their college bsed design competitions and does all their testing with it. I also believe its what is in gas pumps during the winter months in the northern states to help keep lines from freezing.

are you talking about the gas with like 10% ethanol in it or stright methanol? methanol last year have not bought any sense was only 2.13 a galine but you use more of it!! i have no say in a 2 stroke mototr with methanol in it but 4 stroke it works good. You do have carb mods to do an more during week mantance when not riding , take fuel out of card gun gas in it or spray out with wd-40. or you can buy fuel lube for it's like sta-ble for it and lube for carb just my .02

No pump sells stright methanol. That is what some people call "Alcohal" it is a alcohal but very corrosive and requires carb modifications if run stright. Only 5% methanol is allowed in fuel because of this. Methanol or MTBE is the gas companys answer to Ethanol. It is a petrolium made oxigenated fuel. If you remember it is also a polutant that is getting in the ground water. Ethanol is made from grain, like corn. It is basically ever clear or moon shine. It is used in nebraska all year in the same %. It attually cost less to make with the price of corn being less than $2 a bushel. Also the less commonly used E85 is now $.60 less a gallon here.

Are you serious that its like moon shine or just comparing the clarity?

Its actually used to reduce emissions, but you are right in that if you live in the midwest, and buy gas in the winter, you are already running it as a fuel additive.

They make moon shine the same way, same stuff. At the ethonal plants they have locks on the sample valves. E85s remaining 15% gas is to 1. keep people from drinking it and 2. help it run when it is really cold, like 0 and below.

Like whiskey but more distilled. Like think 200 proof not 40. Good for your car good for you (well at least in pure form). Like most the trikes I had comes from farmers.

Ethanol(what is used in E85) is 190 proof booze. Just like Everclear or Moonshine(shine is about 160-180 proof). Methanol is what is used in engines that run 100% alcohol. Methanol will kill you if you drink it. Remember that the term alcohol is a generic chemical term for any chemical ending with an OH group on the end. There are literally thousands of different alcohols, but the general public uses the term alcohol when reffering to ethanol. Racers consider alcohol to mean methanol. Any more questions? :beer
