i found a r that has sat for a while not sure how long with cylinder and head off and it needs piston and rings should i get it note it had something covering the motor. should i rescue it and how much should i show up with

That's so hard to say with out seeing the thing.
What's the rest of it look like?

I think any trike is worth saving. Especially an R. it's hard to say how much without some pics.

well plastics are faded and tank has dents in it the rest is pretty good fair shape

Do you know what year it is. I thought 250r's had plastic tanks which I think would be hard to dent.

81-84 had metal tanks... unless it's like mine and has an aftermarket desert tank.

I never heard a bike quite described like that before. :D
Need tires, chain, sprockets, brakes, seat, cables, bearings, levers, bars,plastic, trans shift, wheels ?

Some trikes are better as doners to make other ones better.

well i will or my friend will i am looking at a street bike first but i am not sure if i can come up with extra money then i will but being so close to TF i might just wait and get it when i get back. yeah it is an 83R and what i ment buy pretty good fair shape was some parts were in good shape and others fair.
