this is NOT mine, its my buddys, I got the pleasure of tearing it down. Typical 350x problem, rod snapped, piece of the rod got lodged in with the counterbalancer, then the rest shredded the tranny. Oh, and just for kicks it decided to snap the sleeve on each side. Would of took a pic of the rod/piston, but we forgot it back at his garage. Enjoy the pics.

Just part of the fun of owning 20 year old machines!, One of my favorite parts, rebuilding. :D

Well, right now Im just trying to save what I can, luckily the cases and most of the sidecase internals are good,, the filter caught it before it could really flow too far. Most the tranny is cooked though. As for the cylinder, The only bad part is the sleeve, so that will be a good contestant for a big bore sleeve. As for the crank, it doesnt look to bad, so i'm sure a heavy duty rod will go on fine., And if there is any deep scratches in it, then I'll have it machined.

The head is still perfect, I am going to list that on ebay tonight. Need to see some dollar signs - TF here I come.. haw haw.

now I understand why the 452 kits and such make 350x's timebombs, if the rod snapps on a stock like bore motor, imagine a 452 big bore it and the stress it puts on the rod. how typical of a problem is the rod snapping?????

Real common, but what the heck can you expect? 20 year old motor, this motor still had the stock piston and everything.
