I am trying to put a 14 tooth front sprocket on the 350x and my chain is to short by about 1/4 inch. It has a 520x90 chain. The next bigger chain size is 92 links that would be to long. How would I get it to work?

Buy a 120 link chain and cut it to size. or use a half link

I found a #50 half link and it worked great. It has more top end with that 14 tooth.

Ive never had a 350x, but the TRX250R adjuster has enough span to go two full teeth. The 92 links should be able to adjust in. They do make a #520 half link, but its not useable on an o-ring chain. #50 is a different size (SAE) and should not be used.

You are correct Tim, I can swap between 13/14 tooth front sprockets on my 350x and the adjuster takes care of the slack no problem at all.

I could get it together but there was not enough slack and I have a RAD carier maby there is a differecne in the adjuster part. The #50 half link works fine went riding all afternoon and never had any trouble.

I'm having trouble with this:cry: . I swaped out my 13 tooth for a 14 tooth and I can't get the chain to fit right. I can get the chain on there, but it is way to tight (and wont loosen anymore). If I add a link, it won't tighten back up. Where do you find these half links, I have searched all over. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place:wondering .
BTW before I put new front/rear sprockets and a new chain it had 14/40 gearing and was no problem. When I bought the new stuff I went back to stock and now want to upgrade because I run 20's, but the chain won't tighten up right.
Also sorry for draging a dead post up.

The Rad Carrier does lose a little adjustment over the stock carrier. I had the same issues a long time ago. I did have enough adjustment to get the chain on with the rad and 14 tooth. It was alittle tight but worked fine. I think I had to pop the chain on at first. Good luck...
