a rubber mallet wont do any thing any way. you need big a rawhide hammer. ive got one and it works great for stuff you dont want to mess up but want to slam it

back out the adjuster to the max to bring the shoes in as much as possible... you probably have a groove in the drum and the pads are resting in them.

The pads are loose inside the brakes didnt work i can look threw the holes on the drum and see the pads flopping around a bit.
should the drum slide right off? or is there something else i have to do to remove it?
block of wood and sledge hammer on one end of the axel-nuff said.

Ive tryed to hit the axle with a block of wood and a hammer on both sides of the axle lol it dont move :wondering if i remove the axle nuts the axle should slide out to the side with the chain on it right?
is there something im missing here cause im losing my patience with it

If you have the Parts to replace whatever gets torched I would start Choppin that ass up. Theres a Limit a man reaches then he says "ITS TIME FOR THE CUTTING TORCH"
Then next week your new ass end will be in Place, and youll be laughing about the Rear End From Hell ;)
yes it should pull out from the sprocket side........heat it up and use the wood+ BIG sledge hammer......if that dont work your screwed.

Problem is the guy that had it before me was a idiot haha he didnt take care off the trike i dont think it was ever washed,im gonna try to heat the axle carrier and give it a healty slam with a block of wood and a big hammer,i just dont wanna bend the axle cause i dont have a new one of them just the carrier and the entire break set up.

i had a hard time gettin the brake drum off of my trike, i had the O ring in the rong spot, and it prevented it from moving, it would go about 1/4 off and then stop like something harder then a little pice of rubber was stopping it, i just moved it back and forth and it eventually popped the Oring out.

awww man this trike blows i hadda cut the brake drum off and the damn axle still wont come out  the sproket also wont come off the axle,i hit the axle with a 5 pound sledge and it dosent budge now something inside the frikkin carrier is stopping the axle from coming out...ive exhuasted every option i can think off only thing i can do now is part the trike out or look for a roller and swap all my stuff into it.
I have 3 nights about 2 1/2 hours per night trying to remove this axle and all ill say is this damn honda is tough cause im beating the crap outta it and still nothing
Hope this might help you, otherwise, you have my sympathy, for all its worth!!

I guess the axle is somehow getting hung up inside the carrier now?
only thing i can think to do is cut the carrier in half and just chopping till it all falls out.

PB Blaster (alot) and a 8" three jaw gear puller (Northern tools <$20) some cable 1/4" and two thimble clips (NortheRn Tools)... use the cable and make three loops that come out each of the six holes ( two wholes = one loop) in the drum attach the gear puller, center fits in center of axle and pull the **** out of it... mine would never have come off with out cutting.. for a while it didn't think I'd get it with the puller.... it was rusted on... Also make sure the brakes arent engaged on the drum as said above....

I got it out this morning i had to cut the brake drum off and do some serious pounding on the axle to get it to come out the bearings inside the carrier were the worst ive ever seen the one side had like 3 or 4 bearings left lol.
the sproket is also stuck on the axle i tryed for a while to get it off then figured the heck with it ill buy a sprocket when i get another axle.

I think I can fix you up with the parts you need. I need to check the sub to see if the gears are good. I know I have a axle, brake drum, sprocket, ect. Oh, and new rear bearing if needed also.

Does the brake drum thread off the axle or what? Im having the same problem with my 84 125M. Ill cut the thing off if I have to.
...and yes, I realize this is an old thread. No need to mention it.

Uhh, WTF just happened? :wondering
I just tried removing it by tapping the bottom of the carrier...and it came right off.
That was too easy I thought something was wrong. Everything looks fine though. Hmmm.
