For years I have been delivering heating oil to this country service station.

They have a old "garage" in back right by tank where I was filling. Had a 4 wheeler in there for a few years and did a total spy job to see what other goodies might be in and LOW and BEHOLD there I spot a front wheel of a ATC but was covered up with junk.

Took the junk off and there all in ONE PIECE sits a beautiful ATC 70!! Beautiful to me because I did not find anything broke or missing on it. Plastic great (orange??), seat great, tires great and will clean up quite nicely.

All these years and I was 25' away from it  Really pays to "spy" :D

It has not run for years and doesn't now, which I am glad because I should be able to get it much cheaper then.

My ?s are.

1) What's it worth?

2) Look all original to you?

3) Came with those type of tires?

4) Gas tank graphics original? Came with flames?

5) What year is it? Only # I coud find was 00002511 on steering stem (could be a bit off on #)

Story is it was a customers of his but his kid rode it for years and now has no interest because he's not a kid any more.

Service station owner has not seen the guy in a few years so would that make it his then?

He's going to find out what the guy wants for it, if possible.

Now the Tri-Zinger (it is for sale) I found going to look at a van with my Mom and the same people had this parked out front.

Don't know anything about these, so fill me in on the year and so fourth.

She went in and asked husband and he said $500 but seemed like it was a "off the top of his head" price. Seems high to me but then I never researched these what so ever.

Later the wife told my mom if I REALLY wanted it he could give a better price.

She is buying the van so I count that as purchasing points for me when talking $$. :D

I only mention these because surley I don't have $$ to buy a 3 wheeler every week and maybe someone else would be interested?

I really like to have the 70 though but if I did buy it, it would have to stay somewhere else for a while. Eventually my wife will divorce me if I keep this up.

You're the master when it comes to finding these things.

The tri-zinger looks mint. Is that original plastic?

Yea, it was a GREAT day today. :D

Well it's not mint but darn nice. Plastic I have no idea if that is original or not.

Even the seat I'm not sure about? Can't recall ever seeing one this color, (seat or plastic) but then again I never researched them either.

Ya know, I think the plastic is because it matches the "forks" perfectly.

By working (driving) only 3 days a week I am limiting my spying quite a bit.

Winter, when I do most my driving, every thing is inside hidden from veiw

Think I'll go out for another drive -spy job now. C-YA! :D

Nice find Huffa, the honda is a 1973, it was the first year of the ATC 70 and the only year that come with flames, so it seems to be the most looked out for, especially if its all original with good fenders and tank.

The Zinger looks wonderful. If I could afford it I would send you the money so I can get it for my sons collection.

WOW, very cool. Didn't know any of that.

Did it only come in that color?

I'll have to do some checking in the mean time.

Thanks again! :beer

I would have to dig my book out to tell you the exact color of paint they used on them but they did only come in one color back then. The zinger is nice too, but my guess would be the 70 will be worth more if it was all fixed up. Good luck

I found the color : The ATC70(K0) was added on April 1 1973 and was available only in Daytona Orange.

If I don't get it but it's for sale, I'll give you a buzz Howdy.

I hope the owner doesn't know much about the value of it and speaking of value what do you guys think it's worth?

Also, it's one of those deals too that it's at this old service station but the owner of station does not own the trike but yet his son rode it. Son grew out of it and there it sets but he hasn't seen the real owner in years

Now that you guys are talking about it again I'll go over Monday and see whats up. Is that 70 pretty rare then and again........ What's it worth if the carb just needs cleaning to get to run decent????????

Man, just a good solid wash job and get rid of the light rust and that think will look OK!

Nice find on the '73 70. I bought one awhile back and restored it. Mike from Vintage Motorsports helped out with info and parts for my rebuild. Billy posted the build in the restore page. Here's a pic of the missing rear shield.
