Ok, between last night and tonight, I read through basically the first nine pages of 250es under the search field. I am amazed with all the info, and would like to say again how much I love this site. Now I have a question, well it will start off as one, but will more than likely branch off into many.
The 85 250ES bolt pattern is 4/110, isn't that the same as most of the 90's quads as well? So couldn't I basically get any rim, whether it be an 8 inch, or a 12 inch, as long as it's the 4/110 bolt pattern and would it fit? Anyone try different combinations, or just stuck with the good ol nine inch rim with the 25 x 12 x 9 tire? Any reason(s) for not trying the different rim/tire sizes?

Also don't forget the inside bell size. Not all 4/110mm rims will fit all 4/110mm hubs.

Aw crap. Here I was hoping to pick up a nice set of C series aluminum rims or something, something nice, and maybe even stiffen the rear shock and put on a set of 26's or something for the mud. My dreams...crushed.

I wouldn't say your dreams are crushed yet. If I remember correctly the 350x style rims will fit the 250es. The best way to know for sure is to borrow a set of rims and try them. ;)
