How much oil should be in 200x head?

today I wanted to check my camchain, to see how tight it was....
Well is was loose, loose enough that i skipped timing twice trying to loosen the cam bolts, and then just said screw it and got the chain to jump over the sprocket...

Well once I got the cam out, i seen a puddle of oil in the head, it was up to like the bottom of the cam journal (the leftside one) Is that normal?...

also I can move my camshaft up and down abit in the head ... :cry: :(

How do I know if my tensoner is working?

i think its normal to have that much in the head mine does when i take it apart.

there sould be a bit of play in the cam i also think. i believe the manual says you can change the cam w/o taking the rocker cover off so id say that there needs to be some there for that to be posible. But alot of movement would be bad. there is most likely a spec for the amount in a repair manual.

well according to the manual ... (look at the pic) .. thats not really that much movement i dont think...
