Well I just couldn't pass up getting some plastic for the 200x project. I know they are 250R fenders but they will fit with a little modification  . I was going to buy new fenders for it but I like the light blue that these are (they are not painted). They are a little dirty and have some light scratches so they will get some finishing sanding before they are installed. The big bummer is that there are 2 exhaust burns :( . Anyone have a creative way to fix them?

The only thing that would cover that up would be some kind of stainless steel plate, It might look a little out of place but so would trying to melt some blue plastic back in there and it would still be noticable. By the way that is a nice shade of blue you got there.
Sand to a smoth surface then use matching heavy duty stickers on both sides?

i would try to sand it down first then try to melt some more plastice over the rough spots and sand it over agian. I think its going to be tricky to do and even more tricky to find plastic of matching collor. But if all that dosnt work i think what Ryah said would be my next route.

One of my friends tried the welding thing and it didn't work very well. I plan on giving it another try this summer though.

That is what I was thinking but it is going to be hard to find the same color.
Sell Me The Seat@!!!!!
I think I will be able to reform the 200x seat pan and use that. If it works then yes the seat will be for sale but unfortunatly there are a couple quarter inch rips in it.

The salvage yard is called Cycle Recyclers, they are in Rochester, PA 15074. It is about 20 minutes from where I go to college. I head back home to NY on Monday.

Isn't the blue plastic avalabile from maier?

This is old Maier plastic. The maier site has dark blue plastic listed for the 250R still but I don't know how dark it is but it looks alot darker on there web site.

If you want to match the color, just shave pieces off of the underside of the plastic with a razerblade in a bunch of differant spots. You'll have the exact same color and probaly wouldnt be able to notice where it came from

Right now they are not for sale. I still have to try them on the 200x and as long as it doesn't take too much to make them work then I am keeping them.
i would just sand down the black roughness out of the burn marks and just put a nice finish all over the rest of the plastic and you wont even notice it.....like it will just be a little divit in the plastic..they will look cool on the 200x for sure tho!

lol yeah it depends on who you talk to. I went and looked around there a few weeks ago and spotted the plastic and my brother got some YT125 plastic, when I went back on Friday the guy I talked to before I went into the yard said they didn't have any trike parts left. I said I wanted to just take a look any way since I figured the plastic would still be there. As for buying whole trikes my bro asked and they said that they won't, some of the bikes they will but not the trikes which stinks because they have a restorable '86 125m.

so would it be worth driving 4 hours to check the place out? or is there not much left?

I wouldn't drive 4 hours. It is mostly picked over but good to check out if you are closer. There prices aren’t too bad but not cheap. For performance trikes there were a few frames and mics. parts but not much else. There were some utility parts trikes which were mainly frames and junk engines. They do have a nice selection of motorcycles if you need those types of parts.
