plastic renew?

does the stuff work really good. i want my fenders to be scratch free. anyone wana do them for me? lol? if not can somone list me some of the products to get and how to use them. also i would like to see before and after pics. i need to do my 200x rear fender/tank fins and a 350x front. fenders are black. all tips n tricks welcome

I did my 350x fenders w/Plastic Renew, will get pics for you tomorrow.

Problem w/it is that it scratches off fairly easily, but its cheap so you can just apply more layers.

The sanding is what takes out the scraches.

Besides the coming off thing I am very pleased, it looks very nice when it's all finished.

I use it all the time. The darker the color, the better it looks. Works great on black plastic & mudflaps too.

I just wonder if that Krylon fusion paint for plastic comes in a clear and if so I'll bet that would be the hot set up.

They do not as I just checked. I wrote to them though asking if they will, explaining what it will be used for. I could use some of it right now, as a matter of fact.

The plastic renew only works as good as the effort you put into the preperation of it. Deep scuffs you'll be there a while sanding or may not get totaly out.

I wrote to Krylon paint and asked if they will ever make a clear coat in the Fusion product line explaining the situation.

They got back to me already (less then 24 hours) and said most definitly will look into it and leave me know. I'm sure that would hold up much better then anything else.

The mop and glo last a long time pertaing to the bottle. Everytime you wash it, just re-apply. Takes minutes.

Only problem with Mop-n-glo is that a lot of exposure to sun makes it a little foggy. I used to use it every now and again on my jump-boots in the service (yeah, I know, but sometimes you just get tired of polishing boots!) and as long as you took care of it, it looked pretty good. You also would want to strip it off (w/alcohol) every now and then so that it wouldn't build up. Gets a yellow tint to it when you get too many layers. This is all non-ATC/V related experience though, so it might be different on plastic. I doubt it though.

Armor All is cheap and will keep your plastic looking just as bright and new as anything else, just wipe it off with a dry rag after applying it so it won't attract dirt/dust and don't use it on your seat.

I just say do it rite sand it and then buff it. sure it might take a while but its well worth it and you wont have to worry about reaplying it over and over again.

i've used it alot and like it. just don't put stickers over it they will peel. other than that i never had a problem with it peeling.

when i sand it i use a orbital palm sander with fine paper. takes the scratches off alot quicker and easier on the arm!! just don't start out with a paper courser than 320 you will be sanding along time.

I just tried the sand and buff and it turned out pretty good. It took me about an hour to do this tank from start to finish. This tank had started to turn white in a couple spots and had alot of scratches before.

X that tank looks great!!! Thank god honda used plastic that you can restore unlike Kawi Tanks.
