OK,
I rebuilt my carb, and now the bike idles fine. If i rock the bike left and right while not moving, it will start to sputter out and die. If I hold on the throttle a little, its fine.
Isnt the pilot jet submerged in the fuel far enough to do some rocking? Im talking about the side tires off the ground an inch or so, so its not like its on its side.
Any ideas? I have a new pilot and main jet coming, and I have to tighten up the choke, but I have no ideas what it could be.
Thanks,
Mike

the float might be to low. not allowing enough fuel in the bowl

Don't rock it - problem solved. Why would you ever find yourself in that situation to where you would have to worry about it or even post for help?.

just thinking why it would stall out so quickly, that all...on the 200s i could rock it all day long and it would stay running

it might be hard not to rock it when he's going down a rough trail. I think thats the point he's trying to get at, it shouldnt sputter if he is just rocking so much that the tire comes only an inch off the ground.
Sorry i cant help with your problem though, im carb-tarded

Sorry i cant help with your problem though, im carb-tardedWhen would he ever be in a situation where hes not moving and either on the throttle by the tranny reving the motor (on a down hill) or by his thumb pushing the lever. I hope you dont take down hills with the clutch pulled in?. If it was a float problem, I would think you would be running out of fuel when you punch it. Unless its an issue while you are riding and not while it "idles just fine but when I rock it" I wouldn't worry. Its probably a result of the fact that very little fuel and air are being mixed and fed into the motor - you rocking it is NOT a natural thing to do to the machine while its idling. You are probably interupting the process somehow, and that rocking wasn't engineered into the equasion when they designed the carb and motor. Is that a good enough answer. Simplified: Nothings wrong - Your machine just dosent like to be rocked off the throttle.

Sounds like a float problem to me. My TT500 would die as soon as the front tire came off the gound and start back up as soon as the tire came back down. Cut out really bad up hills too, even small ones. I hit some whoops and it died right away. I took all the bolts out of the carb bowl and with the gas off pulled the bowl down and it was almost empty. I bent the float a little and it runs great now!
