Can anyone recommend a good stock-type replacement for the front tire of an 86 R? Thanks in advance,

i'm tossing coins if i should buy a new front tire for my 350x ,,, but anyway i think they are the same tire size. before work i was flipping pages in dirtwheels ( this months issue ) and on page 199 there is a ad for
recreationtires.com 1-800-858-4737
they have what they call a front max (23.5x8x11) for 39 dollars and is of decent thread pattern imo.

The stock tire is still available.
As John said.. The Kenda Front Max is a good tire.
There is also other tires available, but they are a bit too aggressive for the front of a 250R.

I have ridden an R with a 489 up front, and it hooked up great. Never pushed through any corner, even under hard acceleration.

Maybe a tire like this? This the tire you were talking about "ATC Crazy"? It's a Dunlap tire... OEM on the 83-84R's. Found it at a remote Honda Dealer in Michigan heading back to NY from Swineharts. I bought the OEM replacement tire from Honda/Ohtsu as a spare for my 350X. It has the same exact pattern as the OEM tire, but says P/V instead of Pro Vector and 24" instead of 23½"

I put a trail wolf on mine. We have them on our 88 fourtrax 300 and had 0 flats or problems. I ride where there are lots of thorn trees and soybean stubble that causes endless flats. It wasn't that expensive and I think it looks cool but thats what makes us all different.

Service Honda sells the stock front tire for the 85/86R for $40. It will also fit the 83/84R wheel.
I think its alot more durable than the Kenda frontmax IMO. YMMV.
