I finally got another 250R!!!! Some of you may have seen it on ebay last week, It looked a little shabby at first, but with a little elbow grease, blood, sweat, and tears its comming along nicely. Not bad for 1 days work. I couldnt beat the price of $730 !!!! I think this winter I'm going to strip it down and restore it, but its too much fun not to ride for the summer. I forgot how fast these things were!!!!

Thanks! I have already started ordering and buying new parts (ones that I can find!) and stocking them up for the resto, but it looks good enough to ride and enjoy for now....I wouldnt have been caught dead riding it with the old paint!!!!
Mechanicly its pretty good, it hasent been molested, cut, welded, nothing.... only thing is the axel is a little bent, but I'm going to replace it anyway. It runs great, but if I cruise at a steady speed it seems to surge..??? Not sure why??? Maybe the fuel screen is clogged??? It idles perfect and the powerband kicks in hard!!! :TrikesOwn

did you remove the camo, or did you repaint? looks like it should now- nice work!

I removed the camo and the plastic underneath was trashed. Lots of scuffs, and it looked white.... I'm not a big fan of painting plastic, but I used some of that Krylon Fussion plastic paint to repaint it red. When I do the resto I will be replacing all the plastic anyway.

Holly that looks like a totally different trike. Good job. Are you still working on the headlight? What brand of rear tires are those? I have never seen a tread like that. Are they 22 inch?

Looks great Steve,
We gotta get together for a ride soon! Unfortunately my R is still not ready to ride, but the X is just itching to be abused.

Thanks everyone, I appriciate the kind replies. Yeah, I forgot to do the headlight, so I left it off for the pic, I will clean it up and put it back on soon. I'm not sure what kind of tires they are, I didnt look, and its over my father-in laws house now (where we ride) But when I go over there I will let you know. They are nice, but to tall...I want some lower profile tires next. Yeah, I think they are 22's.
Paul, I'll give you a call tonight when I get home from work. I wanted to ask you if you have one of those spanner wrenches for the rear axel so I can adjust my chain. I cant seem to find one, not even on ebay!!! I'm free to ride this Saturday if you want to come out to Chesapeake with me. All our bikes are already out there. Like I said, I'll give you a ring tonight. Thanks again everyone, and I'll post more pics when I do the resto this winter.
Steve
