man, I cant keep a pull rope in my 175 for squat! I have broke every one of them! I got the "mega recoil cable" and thought that would solve my problems, but I just broke that! I finally installed the suspension the right way, made a stud and now its tight and not wobbly. After the rope broke (it had already started) I rode it a little, pitching it sideways and gettin pretty rough with her, the test was successful, no more rear swingarm slop, but now shes down again! Arg. I guess its time to take the recoil assy into the small engine guy tomorrow. Could this be the price I am paying for a hi comp piston and head?? LOL

it would be a wee bit unconventional but how about a small diameter steel cable ???

What you need is some of that blue rope, I'm pretty sure its nylon.. I cant for the life of me figure out what it was called, You can get it at sports and hunting stores.. Its used for hanging deer. Extremely strong, but it is the right width for a pull starter..Me and a buddy rigged it on his 200s after he went through a huge spool of normal pullstart rope.
Give me a minute and i'll figure out the name of it..
