i just brought home a 84 250r trike and i dont know what to do with it. it runs great and starts on the second kick every time. i paid 1200 can. it pulls hard to the right and the rear axil seams to be bent other then that it is cosmetics. had new dg pipe and fresh motor last year. owner sold it cause him and his kid were rideing it and the kid snaped the gas the front end came up. it is just something he doesn't needs any more so he bought a quad. i am 22 and mechanically inclined. work at a car dealer as a tech. i am just not sure what i sould be chaseing for the hard pulling. pluss i need to know where i can go and get parts.

Prop the rear end up and spin the axle with the wheels on it. If it seems to wobble, you should be able to determine whether the axle is bent. If it doesn't seem to be, then it's probably uneven tire pressure. Also check the rear axle bearings while your at it. Stand on the pegs with the bike on the ground and rock side to side. If you feel play, then trace it to the culprit. Generally these axle bearings are prone to go bad.
You can find the axle bearings and new axles on ebay, as well as used axles both on ebay and on this board. Lastly, check your rear hubs for wear. This is also a common problem on the older trikes. for a little wider stance you can switch to 300ex/400ex rear hubs. They are the same splines.
One last thing. Take a look at the forks. If you have a front fork that is bent it will make the bike pull hard to that direction. You can check that by sitting the handlebars straight and then standing back and looking at the front tire. It should be straight with the bars. if it is turned slightly to one side or the other, you probably have a bent fork.

i know the axil is bent i usto work on this thing when the pervious owner had it. it has a pro link rear swing arm. i will put up pics i was looking at it about 20 min ago and it has strap mounts on the front shocks. could both shocks have gone and turned in the handel bar mounts? as well is there a way of measureing locations on the trike to make sure it is not in the neck of the frame. i am in the middle of takeing picks of the trike as we speek how do i up load them so * all can see it.
