Yeah yeah, I searched, Didnt see what I was looking for.

Question is simple,.. Anyone ever run Razr's (or similar) on a 350X? I have had them tires on other machines, But I'm interested in how well they hold up on the 350. I will probably get the 22x11-9, Unless someone can convince me to move down to 20"..

I am also interested in other tires you guys have used.. I'm not interested in mud lites, wooley boogers, swampers, or anything like that. I despise all tires like that. One tire that did cross my mind, was the all-tracs, but I'm thinking its a bit more aggressive then I need.

To give a quick run down on my riding.. DIRT, rocks, grass ;) . I'm not interested with bogging through mud, I would much rather go around.

Being able to hang over the side and hammer through the gears in a powerslide is much more important.

The all tracs are great tires! I had them on a 200X and a 250X 4 wheeler.

You can slide them too as both had no problem doing so. A bit heavy for the 200X but how could I resist $20 (garage sale) for a pair that had a good 80% treadlife left?

I just bought tires again but this time went with Kenda Vipers that are some what simular in design. A bit more balloony then the all trac but that was my goal to have a bit more of side wall flex for a bit more of a plush ride. Actually the Vipe seems right in between a ballon & a flat profile. I like that, good comprimise.

They are both in the same price leauge too at $45-55 depending where you look.

Both trac and Viper are 2 plys also.

You move down to 20's and of course you know you lower the ground clearence also. Personally I like the stock size and in no way would want to lower the rear a bit. That all depends on where you ride though and I will be on rocky terrian now and then so I want all the clearence I can get.

In picture are 22X11X8's.

Then I would go with a 20".less side wall to flexI really like the shredder XC's Im running on my 350. 6 ply and cheaper than most other brands. Plenty of ground clearance, dont worry.

That was my only concern with the 20's holic, Was kind of worried with how close the rearend is down to the ground. I was checking out those Shredders... Looked pretty good, How do they hook up?

I heard from many people that the razors are even better than the holeshots but I don't know they look the same to me.

I have riddin atv's with the boring turf tamers on them but I'll tell you what those things are pretty good. Lots of good traction when you need it and doesn't take much effort to break them loose. Which with a 350x I wouldn't think that would be a problem anyway. Just my .02 cents.

I like turf tamers also.. But they are too tame of a tread pattern for what I want.

I loved the 20x11x9 Kenda Knarleys that I had on my 350x. They slide well and got great traction for trail riding. They are 6 ply and very duarable. These are them on my old 350x that I sold. I highly recommend them you won't be disappointed.

Whoops those were the old 400ex tires. I put Kendas Knarleys on later and they were better than the ohtsus.

I have a set of Shredders for my 250R.
They stick like adhesive but don't slide well at all.

They look so much like Holeshots, it's spooky.
And MUCH cheaper!

I was in the same boat as you with my old 350X: 20's or 22's?
I sold it before making the final decision....but I was swaying toward 22's.
Why?
The 22's will preserve all your ground clearance and your top speed.
AND....the 22" Holeshot or Shredders won't have flexible sidewalls.....they're both stout tires.
Unlike the soft sidewalls on 22" Ohtsu's, for example.

I say 22's for your X.
You have PLENTY of torque and gear to pull them, they'll stick like glue and you won't lose any precious ground clearance.

Good luck!

Well, they do get great traction. The XC shredder has a little different pattern. I got 20's to gear it down a bit. Im running a PRM swingarm skidplate, so no worries about clearance, but Ive never noticably bottomed on anything either.

I don't really have any experience with the 350x but I put the razr's on my 200x and let me tell you these babies hook up. I can still break them loose and slide real good, even on the 200x. I had it out in the snow a couple of this winter and I am not kidding you could just barely see the tip tops of the tire in the snow and I was just chugging right along. If they started to slip at all I just bliped the throttle and the dug right down to the solid ground and off I went. They clean out fairly well also. On my tecat I am going to be running the kenda klaws but I can't say how I like them yet since they haven't arrived. THe size on the razr's is 20/11/9 for me.

Have you thought about either the ohtsu or dunlop radials? I really liked the ohtsu radials I had on my 350x and have since bought the dunlops for my 250r. I had razrs on my 400ex and wasn't impressed, plus they are kind of heavy (I only had the 4plys too).

Razrs are great on a 350x. The one I had had them on it and if I got stuck in mud or snow I just went through the gears and got out no problem. I'd go 22x11x9 just becasue if your trail riding you might want that extra inch or so. My neighbor is alot more experienced then me on the 350x's so he took it to work one day and was peeling out in the parking lot. So they definatly slide :D

what happend to carlisle trail pros?? they are a good all around tire...ive never got stuck in mud with them and the 200x really breaks them loose if you give it a bit of throttle...they are 2 ply and the sides flex pretty good...they hook up pretty good...when * need them too they will...the 185 i had them on did good donuts..and the x now has them and they are better.. i can still ride wheelies in 3rd on gravel too..like the spider tracs did...i think the razrs holeshots etc are overrated..my $.02

Trail pros- no no no nonever.

I'll order them off my local "dealer" since I dont have to pay shipping.

Right now my mind is set on shredders.

Razrs and Holeshots are not overrated, I dont mean any offence, but that is usually a poor mans excuse for running trailpros. I have used both razrs and holeshots, and I loved both of them.

carlisle trail pros?!?! Are you smoking dope? lol. To be honest I absolutly hate them. I took a pair through a spot with wet grass/loose dirt and it rained heavy the night before and HOLY F I had to have my dad help push me because I was just sitting there spinning and man they do not clean at all. He even had near bald spidertrax and putted right through that spot. Kenda klaws or maxis all trak look like good tires.

My brother has 22x10x9 Holeshot XCT's on his TRX-R (but its got a 350X motor). I have had plenty of ride time on them in dirt, grass (hay fields), and some rocks and mud. On dirt, they hook up awesome in a straight line and slide incredibly (sp) well. His motor is pushing 40-42HP however...

They are awesome in the mud, although you dont care about that. In grass, If its wet they tend to spin a little more than some other tires, but once you put your weight on the rear they hook up. When the grass is dry, they get almost as much traction; if not more than on dirt.

I dont have much experience with them on rocks, except for shale/slate/flatrock, and they hooked up like a fly on flypaper

Well, I've tried a couple tires on my 350X'es through the years... my 350X came with some sort of Holeshot copy cats.... kind of a "square" tire. I had the H-Trak's on it for a bit... then I put some OEM tires on it, and been running OEM on the Showgirl and a set of OEM copy cats on the Go-Go girl... The Go-Go girl came with those ugly heavy Carlise tires on it on like 250SX rims... Here's some different pics of my 350X's through differnet stages, but with different tires on them....

Those look like blaster rear tires on the back of the 85 350x in the pic on the right. The h-traks look nice on there.

I dont know Bruce, I really like the look of the OEM tires, but if im gonna be spending $100 on new tires, I might as well get something better.

I did go to the Honda dealer today, and 3 other dealers.. The Honda dealer had a great selection of dirtbike and streetbike tires, but only a couple ATV tires, and one of those weird balloon tires for the early 90's. I figured if I could find a deal there, Then i'd get them... but no such luck.
