just picked one up from a kid at school for 75 bucks.its got some problems tho

1.hard to start.....very very hard
2.carb is all screwy i think because they messed around with it.when he had it at one time it would only run with the choke on?
3.either im not finding nuetral or something else but im 99.9999% sure that its in nuetral but still has lots of resistance and doesnt want to roll.
4.i broke the pull starter rope on it today, when i pull the cover off where the rope goes into is anything gonna come flying out at me?

it seems like a cool little machine and i really want to get it running good.i was planning on pulling the carb off and doing my best to clean it out real good. oh yeah its a 83. i got it running today with the choke off and at full throttle it didnt seem to rev up near as high as it should have.my buddy has a 84 200x honda and a 85 250r yamaha tri-z so i wanted to pick this one up for just a little screw around rig and for 75 bucks i really couldnt pass it up and even if it does end up givin me to much hell i can always sell it for way more then i bought it for.
thanks

I woulds rebuild the carb with a quality kit, like Veserah. Then check to make sure the valves are adjusted correctly, then do a timing check. It sounds like you have compression and spark, you just need to get the gas and spark occuring together.

Be careful with the pulls strart recoil spring. Nothing should fly out, but really be carefull taking the circlip off the shaft to get to the starter pully. Those small springs are hard to find if you drop them. Get a good manual and follow the directions and pics. You can do it.

There should be a little indicator above the shift lever to let you know when its in neutral. I think it points forward and has a "N" on it.
