tri moto 125 question

i have a 1980 tri moto 125 and when i take the cover off the oil pump it has a bunch of oil in it tranny fluid to be exact , doesn't this normally mean that the seal on the tranny or some thing is leaking? not to familiar with the inside of this bike but i know some dirt bikes will kill the seal and then suck the oil from the tranny and still run alright but smoke real bad.

sounds like the seal between the oil injector and the case is toast and leaking oil, theres just a paper gasket becuse the injector runs off of a gear in the trans...
