While I am waiting to get a used carb for the 86 200x, I figured I'd freshen it up a little bit just for the hell of it. I have some 10w30 oil in the shed, is that too thick for the motor? Is there an oil filter that should be changed with the oil, (if so where is it)? How do I check ignition and cam timing, (or do I need a timing light)? I know that you take the grey plug out of the left side case and line some letters up while the cam sprocket lines up with the head some how for cam timing, but I am unsure. Are there points involved. I have never really worked with the ignition systems on fourstroke trikes, So what I am looking for is a quick rundown of how the system works, (I.E. the stator sends a charge to the cdi which then sends it to this, etc.) I want to learn as much as possible, so anything will help, thanks.

10 30 oil is fine, not sure on filter never had a 200x.
timing can be checked with a timing light.
