OK, the motor is out, the top end is off, the top end is in great condition, i am still going to get it bored out .10 over and throw in a Wiesco piston kit as well
my BIG problem is though, i cracked the cases, and the left over oil, well, it looked like gravy, and it was completly GREY!!! this motor has had water in it for sure, but after using a rag and cleaning it up for the most part, it seems to have done no damage, only one crank bearing is seized, but i am going to replace all of them i think, just to be safe,
What kinda stuff do i use to clean up the motor? interally and exteraly, i am thinking this stuff i have at work called "engine Shampoo" but i dont want to harm the motor any, i want to ride this bike for a bit so i also want it to be reliable, so i aint puttin anything in the motor to clean it up that might potentially harm anything
I will get pics up tommorow night, its too late right now

use a parts washer with some varsol in it-and a air compressor, paint thinner will work too(same thing cheaper) break cleaner works well too- but you have to clean all the varsol and cleaners off any rubber surfaces, seals ect fair quick with the air compressor or over time they will get eaten away...

You might have a coolant leak if your oil is milky looking. Check your water pump seal while it's apart.
paint thinner is like 2 bucks a 4 liter jug and a stiff bristle'd brush will do the job nicely...:D

when i drained the rads, the coolant was almost black (OMG!!!!  )
I am also going to rebuild the water pump i think

i wouldnt use the engine shampoo stuff on the inside of the engine. we have GM Engine Shampoo where i work and we only use it for cleaning the outside of the engine off. it takes the grease and crap off.

ok, thanks for the replies, i havent had much chances to get outside in the shop lately (big concert i was settin up at school, so it really stressed me out when i was settin everything up)
Tommorow night I will probaly take a look at the motor again, I was lookin at the rod and crank, the crank has had no damage, but the bearing on the crank that holds the rod is seized up, i dont even know how it ran!!!!
It needs a new rod for sure, thats 125, and 159 for the piston kit, and another 59 for the gasket kit, and another 120 for motor bearings, thats roughley 460 bucks, then i got to do sprockets, chain, rear brakes, and i want to put new rear plastics, front fender, rear tires, front tire, handle bars, clutch and throttle cable, and new silencer on it, so i am going to have alot of money into it

Yamaha called me back today, i am buying a complete NOS connecting rod, with the thrust discs (the big washer things on each side of the connecting rod) the connecting rod bearing, the needle bearing, and the rod its self for 170 taxes in, so i am getting that friday if it comes in to my work, then i will be getting the Wiesco pro lite piston kit for it on the following wed, and hopefully the gasket kit and bearings will be in as well.....
Big ride coming up in 2 weeks! i shall have it ready!!

ok, i was out ridin the warrior today, and whe i got back, i was looking over the frame, its actually in not that bad of shape paint wise, so i think i am just got to leave it until i go to do my complete restore, right now i am just making the motor run well, save up my money, ride it a bit, then do my plastics and powder coat the frame and such, which will be tons of fun
