Hey all,

Been awhile since I've been in here... lookin' alright though!

I have an 85' ATC250R that will be 90% showroom condition, no mods at all, completely stock. Unfortunately I have to sell it, and I'd like to know a realistic value. It was rebuilt in 94', and has had one ride since, and parked for the rest of the time. Here's what I did to it in 94', and it's currently torn down and being re-detailed again.

Front, rear fenders, OEM, with factory decals intact
new headlight shroud, OEM plus decals
front shock boots, OEM
engine cases (both) with new bearings (complete) & seals
tires, front and rear, OEM Honda - nibs just worn off, a few cracks (superficial), still hold air fine
rear swingarm pivot bearings & axle bearings
front axle bearings
front fork rebuild, seals, oil
brake pads
rear OEM grab bar and front brake guide, plus handlebars and grips

The original tank has been buffed and refurbished, and is decent, but not mint. Rad shrouds have new OEM decals, but the shrouds have some scratches and scrapes, plus cracks around the mounting bolts, but are all intact. The seat has normal wear and one cigarette burn on it.

Overall, it has a few small defects, but it is 100% stock and there are no aftermarket parts on it. The rear skidplate is a little tough, and the bike overall has some scratches from normal use, but the plastics, wheels, and engine all look nearly new. This bike will be sold running with all components working. It's currently torn apart, but I will have it back together in a month or so, and it will be on the market.

Any ideas? Realistic answers please! BTW, it has a registered title in my name.

They'll be coming soon - it's just a frame at the moment. When it's done I'm hoping the thing is going to look just like the one in that 2 page 85' Honda 250R ad that I used to drool over as a kid...

There is a difference in prices east coast versus west coast based on supply. Definetly need pictures to better assess. sounds like 1700-2500 to me on the eastern seaboard. 85s are much more common

west coast is anywhere from 1750-2200 for a mint R

I did see a showroom condition stock 85 R (Not an 86) go for 4100 at one point several months but I dont think this one is on that level.

Well, you guys are reinforcing my idea on what it's worth - I was hoping for around $2500-$3000. I wrote the worst stuff down, I would imagine it will be quite a bit cleaner than 90% of the 85-86 R's out there.

Anybody know if you can buy the factory front tires for these things anymore?

You can still buy the factory front and rear tires for it, I just did a month ago.
